red Wednesday

Wednesdays are half days at school in France, so I picked Ria up at noon, and we headed off to Roussillion, a nearby village, for a day of fun together. The hills around this town are made of sandstone colored various shades of red, by ochre. Just outside the village is a national park with a nice path that wends its way through ochre-colored outcroppings and skinny trees. Here are photos of the town, the landscape, and my sweet child after playing in the pretty red sand.
