Evening in Paris

Notre Dame at night

In the evening we walked over to the Ile de la Cite, pausing in front of Notre Dame to watch a pretty amateurish magician do an overall fairly dismal show, made much better by the fact that he chose to bring Ria in to be his partner. Because she didn't understand him, she imitated him, even when it wasn't called for, cracking up the crowd.

We then headed over to the Ile St. Louis, home to what is reputed to be the best gelato in Paris, perhaps in all of France. We bought some. Ria's verdict: "I've had better." This beautiful little island feels like a vacation from Paris. It's quiet, lovely, and home to restaurants with very small numbers of table ... as small as four tables even.
